Lakshminivasam

An old house built in the traditional village headman's house. Constructed in 1932 this house was then outside of Bangalore. With the rapid expansion of the city it is now included within Bangalore city limits. Tiles and the beautiful safe were shipped out from England. The house has a separate garden, underground storage space for Ragi and rice grain. A separate built area for Cows and a fantastic garage. Our sincere thanks to Mr. C.M Gowda for graciously allowing us to visit and take pictures.

S.G Rao's Military Hotel, Cottonpet, Bangalore

For Connoisseurs of Military Hotel food. Which is hot spicy and cheap. This is probable the oldest military hotel in Bangalore, being established in 1908. Military Hotel is a common term for hotels serving non-veg made in the local style.

Bangalore Fort

Bangalore Fort was originally built by Kempe Gowda a feudatory of the Vijaynagar Empire and the founder of Bangalore as a mud fort . It was converted into a stone fort by Haider Ali in 1761.It was a stronghold of Tipu Sultan that was captured by army of the British East India Company led by Lord Cornwallis on 21 March 1791 during the 3rd Mysore War 1791-1792.Only the Delhi gate of the fort presently exists on Krishnarajendra Road bearing a marble plaque recording the spot where a breach in the fort wall delivered Bangalore Fort to the British





Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, Bangalore

Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace is located in heart of Bangalore City. This Majestic structure is completely built in Teak Wood. It served as guest house for Tipu Sultan during summer. The structure was built more than 200 years ago. It is a popular Tourist spot located in Bangalore. Fee is applied to visit the Palace.





K.R. Market, Bangalore

K.R. Market is the main wholesale market dealing with commodities in Bangalore, India.
It is named after Sri Krishnarajendra Wodeyar the former ruler of the princely state of Mysore. This market is located on Mysore Road at its junction with Krishnarajendra Road. Its the first locality in the whole of Asia to get Electricity.
